Having lost for the second straight time in the Conference Semifinals, the Bruins decided to stay put over the summer and are hoping for less injury problems in this year's NHL campaign. Thus, the Boston Bruins will try to secure a win when they face Shane Doan and the Phoenix Coyotes on Sunday at 2 a.m. GMT.
Unlike Boston, Phoenix' front-office was very content with the performance of coach David Tippett's squad as the Coyotes managed to make their first post-season appearance after a long time in the lottery. More precisely, Shane Doan and company posted a 50-25-7 record in the regular season as they finished fourth in the Western Conference. Even though the Coyotes' second leading scorer Matthew Lombardi left the franchise this summer, GM Don Maloney was able to fill the hole by signing free agent Ray Whitney to a two-year deal. Therefore, hockey fans around the globe can expect a fairly even game when the Bruins take on the Coyotes on Sunday.
