Considering Minnesota's poor performance in 2009-10, the franchise's front-office is relatively content with the team's 3-3-2 start into this year's NHL campaign.Yet, the Wild lost two straight versus the Vancouver Canucks and Los Angeles Kings last week while showing severe weaknesses at the defensive end of the ice. Thus, the Minnesota Wild will try to bounce back when Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals are in town on Friday at midnight GMT.
Albeit the Caps' offensive has not been quite as explosive as last year up to this point, Alex Ovechkin and company did nonetheless get off to a decent start as they posted a 5-3-0 record. That said, Washington still has plenty of time to play up to its potential and certainly has the individual talent to make another run at the first playoff seed in the Eastern Conference down the stretch. Thus, the Caps will try to secure another road win when they are in Minnesota on Friday night.
