Even though very few expect Minnesota to finish this year's NHL campaign with a post-season appearance, the poor performance of Mikko Koivu and company so far was still somewhat disappointing. More precisely, the Wild managed to win just one game in the first two weeks of regular season play and find themselves right at the bottom of the Western Conference. Thus, the Minnesota Wild are highly motivated to get back on track when they host Daniel Sedin and the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday at 1 a.m. GMT.
Similarly, the Canucks are not very happy with their start into the season either as the team around Daniel Sedin posted a 1-2-1 record and struggled to find the net. Averaging just 1.7 goals per game, Vancouver will have to increase the productivity of their offense around the Sedin brothers. That said, the Canucks were one of the better offensive teams last year and should be able to play much better hockey down the stretch. Taking everything into account, it looks like Vancouver might have an edge over the Wild as Minnesota still lacks the individual talent to compete with the better teams in the league.
