Trailing the first seeded Detroit Red Wings by just 1 point, Vancouver is certainly in a great position to compete for the pole position in the Western Conference. Led by All-Stars Daniel Sedin and Henrik Sedin, the Canucks have been playing excellent hockey at both ends of the ice up to this point. Thus, the Vancouver Canucks will make their way to Texas where they will play Brad Richards and the Dallas Stars on Saturday at 1 a.m. GMT.

Whereas the Canucks’ success is not all that surprising, very few expected Dallas to establish itself in the upper echelon of the Western Conference in this year’s NHL campaign. Yet, the team around Brad Richards is holding on to an excellent 22-11-4 record and the first place in the Pacific Division halfway through the season. One positive surprise has been the Stars’ strong defensive performance as they gave up just 2.6 goals per contest so far. Hoping to end the Canucks’ winning streak, the Stars will do their best to get an important home win when the game gets underway on Saturday night.
