Coming off two blowout wins over the Cancuks, the Hawks all the sudden find themselves back in the series and could make a huge step towards the Western Conference Semi-Finals if they manage to get another win in game six. Thus, Patrick Kane and the Chicago Blackhawks will host the Vancouver Canucks at United Center on Sunday at 11:30 p.m. GMT.

While the Blackhawks might be the defending Stanley Cup champions, there is no doubt who the underdogs are in the first round series between Vancouver and Chicago. Having clinched the number one overall seed with an outstanding 54-19-9 record, the Canucks started the post-season with three consecutive wins resulting in a 3-0 series lead. However, Daniel Sedin and company lost some of their momentum as they dropped two straight, being outscored 7-2 and 5-0 respectively. Therefore, hockey fans around the world can expect an exciting game when the Hawks will try to force a game seven showdown on Sunday evening.

Having posted a solid 12-7-3 record in the first two months of regular season action, the Canucks are right in the race for home-ice advantage and are confident to become a contender down the stretch. Considering that Vancouver is among the best defensive teams in the league at 2.6 goals per contest, while having no trouble to find the net themselves, they could certainly make some noise as the season goes on. Thus, Daniel Sedin and the Vancouver Canucks will try to get their ninth home-win in 2010-11 when they meet the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday at 1:30 a.m. GMT.

Albeit the Hawks did not start this year’s NHL campaign the way they were hoping after their Stanley Cup title last season, the team around Patrick Kane quietly climbed to the fourth place in the Western Conference after a solid performance in November. In fact, Chicago won six of its last eight games and is trailing the first ranked Detroit Red Wings by just four points. That said, Patrick Sharp and company will most likely have to do a better job of limiting opposing offensive lines as they gave up nearly three goals per game so far. Therefore, fans around the league could very well see a contested hockey game when the Canucks host the Hawks on Saturday night.

Coming slow out of the gates, the Canucks have yet to find their rhtyhm as the team around Daniel Sedin and Henrik Sedin only won one game so far. While Vancouver does not lack individual talent, the squad of coach Alain Vigneault simply failed to execute at the offensive end of the ice and averages just under 2 goals per game. Thus, Henrik Sedin and the Vancouver Canucks will try to clinch a win on the road when they visit the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday at 1 a.m. GMT.

While the Hawks did not struggle as much as the Canucks in the first two weeks of play, the defending Stanley Cup champions also have a number of issues to address. Most importantly, Chicago's defensive lines experienced too many breakdowns as they allowed a whopping 3.0 goals per contest. However, the Blackhawks can be expected to optimize their defensive schemes as the season goes on and will certainly be a tough challenge for the Canucks on Thursday night.

Albeit the Hawks have been playing excellent hockey at both ends of the ice all year long, their Conference Semifinals encounter with the Canucks has been a tough battle thus far. Tied 1-1 after two games, Patrick Kane and the Chicago Blackhawks will be looking for a win when they host the Vancouver Canucks at United Center on Monday at midnight GMT.

Similarly, the Canucks' front-office is very content with the way this year's NHL campaign panned out so far. After a third place finish in the competitive Western Conference, the franchise from British Columbia went on to defeat the Los Angeles King in six games, showcasing exciting up-tempo hockey throughout the series. Once again, the Sedin brothers have been spectacular as they lead Vancouvers' offense, combining for 6 goals and 15 assists resulting in a total of 21 points in just 8 games.
In contrast, the Hawks' offensive output has been distributed among many shoulders making the team from Illinois very tough to defend. In fact, 22-year old center Jonathan Toews leads the team as he recorded 2 goals and 10 points so far. Given the fact that Chicago made it all the way to the Conference Finals last year, the squad of coach Joel Quenneville is certainly under pressure to live up to the expectations of their fan base. Taking everything into account, it looks like fans around the league can expect a fairly even game when the Hawks host the Canucks on Monday night. Where as Vancouver will rely on All-Stars Henrik Sedin and Daniel Sedin to make things happen, Chicago is hoping to benefit from their deep squad and excellent rotational players.

Albeit the Hawks struggled a bit in their first round encounter with the Nashville Predators, the team around Patrick Kane ultimately made it to the Conference Semifinals with three straight wins to close out the series. Thus, the Chicago Blackhawks will host Henrik Sedin and the Vancouver Canucks at United Center on Sunday at midnight GMT.

Similarly, the Canucks did not excel in the first post-season round as they dropped two of their first three games versus the Los Angeles Kings, but subsequently rallied to a 4-2 series win. Where as Vancouver had no trouble finding the net, their defense left much to be desired at times, allowing three goals per contest. However, the Canucks' offense around the Sedin brothers compensated for said shortcoming as Daniel Sedin and Henrik Sedin recorded 10 and 8 points respectively in six games.
Considering that the Hawks made it all the way to the Conference Finals in 2008-09, the franchise from Illinois is certainly under pressure to perform well in this year's post-season. Yet, Patrick Sharp and company also experienced their fair share of problems at the defensive end of the ice as they did not play nearly as well as in the regular season. Taking everything into consideration, both teams could very well find themselves on a fairly level playing field. Even though the Hawks finished one place ahead of the Canucks, it should be noted that Vancouver had several injury related problems as well as tough schedule due to the 2010 Winter Olympics.
