Even though the Islanders still have a long way to go to become a playoff team, one can see the progress of the young team around John Tavares as New York posted a 1-1-1 record so far. Thus, the New York Islanders are hoping to make another step into the right direction when they play Phil Kessel and the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday at 11 p.m. GMT.

Taking into consideration that Toronto was far the worst the team in the Eastern Conference last year, Leafs' fans are very excited about the good start the team pulled off so far. In fact, the team around Phil Kessel won three consecutive games in the first week of play as they overcame the Montreal Canadiens, Ottawa Senators and Pittsburgh Penguins. That said, it remains to be seen whether Toronto will be able to keep up their level of play at the offensive end of the ice. After all, the Leafs were one of the worst offensive teams in the entire league in 2009-10 and did not make any major moves this summer. Thus, Toronto will try to keep its winning streak alive when they meet the Isles on Monday night.
