Given the fact that most experts expected the Washington Capitals to make it to the Stanley Cup Finals, their first round exit versus the Habs was certainly a big surprise. Thus, the Montreal Canadiens will face Sydney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins in game three of the Eastern Conference Semifinals on Tuesday at 11 p.m. GMT.

Still hoping to defend their Stanley Cup title, the Penguins are confidently entering their second round encounter with the Canadiens. Much like in the past, Pittsburgh's dynamic offense around All-Star forwards Evgeni Malkin and Sydney Crosby steamrolled the Ottawa Senators in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals in just six games. In fact, Crosby and Malkin recorded no less than 14 and 8 points respectively and led their team to an impressive average of four goals per contest.

In contrast, the Canadiens experienced significant problems in the regular season and entered the playoffs as eight seed in the East. Yet, the franchise from Quebec somehow managed to pull off a miracle as they knocked out Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals in a highly contested seven game series. Especially their performance at the defensive end of the ice was spectacular, holding the Caps to just three goals in the last three games of the series. Thus, the Canadiens are hoping to hold on to their positive momentum when they host the Penguins on Tuesday night. Yet, Pittsburgh might have an edge over Montreal as the Habs simply lack the individual talent the Pens can count on.
