As far as Anaheim’s individual talent is concerned, Teemu Selanne and company can certainly compete with anyone in the league, yet, the franchise from California often failed to perform as a team. Having started the season by splitting a back-to-back versus the Boston Bruins, Phoenix is highly motivated to avoid falling behind in the playoff race early in the season. With Ray Whitney wearing a Coyotes' jersey this year, the franchise from Arizona is confident to boost their previously inconsistent offense in order to make some noise in the Western Conference down the stretch. Thus, the Phoenix Coyotes will meet Corey Perry and the Anaheim Ducks on Monday at midnight GMT.
Without any doubts, the Ducks' front-office was hoping for a better start into this year's NHL campaign after the franchise from California failed to make it to the playoffs in 2009-10. After all, the squad of coach Randy Carlyle has one of the better offensive lineups in the league as Saku Koivu, Teemu Selane, Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf are all excellent forwards. Yet, the Ducks lost three straight to start season before bouncing back with a victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday. Thus, Corey Perry and company will try to get their act together when they meet the Coyotes on Monday night.
