Even tough the Canadiens slowed down a bit as they fell to the Florida Panthers and Columbus Blue Jackets last week, the team around Tomas Plekanec still leads the Northeast Division with a decent 7-4-1 record. Most importantly, the Habs were able to perform consistently at the defensive end of the ice and rank among the league's best at just 2.3 goals per contest. Thus, Mike Cammalleri and the Montreal Canadiens will host the Ottawa Senators on Sunday at midnight GMT.
In contrast, the Senators did not play particularly well in the first month of regular season action, but have been showing some progress as of late. Winning three of their last four, Ottawa seems to have found its rhythm offensively, although it should be mentioned that Daniel Alfredsson and company are still unable to contain their opponents. Therefore, it appears to be rather questionable whether the Senators will be able to prevent another road loss when they meet the Canadiens in an all-Canadian matchup on Sunday night.

Considering that the Senators lost three consecutive games to start this year's NHL campaign, the pressure on Alexei Kovalev and company is certainly rising to play up to their potential. After all, Ottawa finished fifth in the Eastern Conference last year and has the individual talent to make it to the post-season again. Thus, the Ottawa Senators will travel to Quebec where they will face Tomas Plekanec and the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday at 11 p.m. GMT.
In contrast, the Habs started the season with a road loss in Toronto before bouncing back with a 3-2 win over Sydney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Much like in the past, the Canadiens have been showcasing solid team defense while struggling to find the net at times. If Montreal manages to sort out this issue as the season goes on, the squad of coach Jacques Martin could very well pull off another Conference Finals appearance come playoff time. Taking everything into account, hockey fans around the league can expect a fairly even game between the Habs and Senators on Saturday night.
