Taking into account that the Isles have not been to the post-season for quite some time, very few expected the team around John Tavares to pull off such a great start into this year's NHL campaign. In fact, the Islanders lead the Atlanta Division with a 3-1-2 record and have been on fire offensively in the first two weeks of action. Thus, John Tavares and the New York Islanders will continue their road trip when they visit the Florida Panthers on Saturday at 11 p.m. GMT.
Much like the Isles, the Panthers also got off to decent start as the squad of coach Peter DeBoer managed to win two out of four games so far. Most importantly, Florida performed extremely well at the defensive end of the ice as they allowed just 1.3 goals per contest. That being said, both teams should be on a fairly similar level of play and can be expected to play with a lot of energy on Saturday night.
