Holding on to a 25-15-6 record and the fourth place in the Western Conference, the Predators showed that their post-season appearance was no fluke last season and that they remain one of the better hockey teams in the NHL. Thus, Shea Weber and the Nashville Predators will travel to Alberta to play the Edmonton Oilers on Monday at 1 a.m. GMT.

Given the fact that the Oilers were one of the worst teams in the entire league last year, hardly anyone expected the team around Ryan Whitney to make a lot of noise in 2010-11. However, Edmonton’s disastrous performance across the board so far, was not exactly what the franchise’s front-office was looking for either. Having won just 14 out of 45 games, the Oilers have been struggling at both ends of the ice and will once again miss the playoffs. Nonetheless, Edmonton will try to make some progress when they meet the Predators in front of their home-crowd on Monday night.
