While Detroit’s performance last week has been less than stellar as Nicklas Lidstrom and company dropped three in a row, the Red Wings still lead the Western Conference with 17 wins in 26 games. Thus, the Detroit Red Wings will try to end their losing skid when they play the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday at midnight GMT.

Although the Kings got off to a great start into the 2009-10 season, the team around Anze Kopitar has been struggling as of late as they fell to the tenth place in the Western Conference. That said, despite losing seven of their last ten, Los Angeles is still hanging on to a solid 15-10-0 record and has plenty of time to get back to the playoff mix. Nonetheless, the Kings will probably have to address their offensive problems down the stretch as they scored just 2.6 goals per game up to this point. Yet, L.A. can be expected to give the Wings a run for their money when the game gets underway on Tuesday night.

Detroit leads the Central Division of the Western Conference, but trail San Jose by seven points for the top spot in the West.
