Even though the Avs' defense has been less than stellar, the team of coach Joe Sacco still managed to post an excellent 4-2-0 record as their offensive pressure compensated for their lack of defensive intensity. Thus, Paul Stastny and the Colorado Avalanche will be looking for a win in front of their home crowd when they face the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday at 1 a.m. GMT.

While some might have thought that the Kings' post-season appearance in 2009-10 was a fluke, the franchise from California demonstrated in the first two weeks of play that they have no intentions to leave the upper echelon of the Western Conference. More precisely, the team around Anze Kopitar won four out of five games so far and has been playing excellent hockey at both ends of the ice. Keeping their opponents to just 1.8 goals per contest, L.A.'s defense managed to take some pressure off their offensive lines and led the team to a 4-1-0 record. Yet, the Kings will most likely have to bring their A-game to avoid a road loss versus Paul Stastny and company on Sunday night.
