Once again at the bottom of the league, Edmonton failed to show any measurable progress in 2010-11 as they posted a disappointing 12-18-7 record in the first four months of regular season action. Having lost six straight, the Edmonton Oilers will have to play much better hockey to avoid a loss versus Daniel Sedin and the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday at 3 a.m. GMT.
Being tied for the first place in the Western Conference, things have certainly panned out for the Canucks in this year’s NHL campaign. Especially Vancouver’s performance at the offensive end of the ice has been of the charts as they are the second best team in the entire league at 3.4 goals per game. Led by the Sedin brothers, the Canucks rallied to a 24-8-5 record as Daniel Sedin and Henrik Sedin recorded 47 and 49 points respectively up to this point. Considering Vancouver’s dominant performance so far, anything else than a comfortable home win versus the Oilers would be a big surprise on Saturday night.
