After an excellent regular season, the Hawks suddenly find themselves in a tough battle in the first playoff round with the series being tied at two games each. Thus, Patrick Kane and the Chicago Blackhawks will try to make a step forward when they face the Nashville Predators in game six of the Western Conference Quarterfinals on Tuesday at 1:30 a.m. GMT.

Where as Chicago is not overly excited with their post-season performance so far, the Predators have very little to complain about. After all, nobody expected the franchise from Tennessee to give the Hawks a run for their money, yet the series is tied 2-2 after the first four games. Most importantly, Nashville managed to hold the Blackhawks to just 1.75 goals per contest as they played exceptionally well at the defensive end of the ice. Albeit their offensive performance left much to be desired at times, it is still anyone's series as of now.

In contrast, the Hawks will have to improve by leaps and bounds in order to make some noise in the post-season down the stretch. Obviously, the first step was Chicago's 3-0 win on the road in game four when Patrick Sharp finally stepped up and fulfilled his leadership role, recording no less than two goals. That said, the team around Patrick Kane and Duncan Keith will have to perform more consistently night in and night out to have a real shot to not only advance to the next round but possibly contend for an appearance in the Stanley Cup Finals. Either way, the audience can expect a highly contested hockey game when the underdogs from Nashville will try to upset the Hawks on Tuesday night.

Considering the Hawks’ excellent performance during the regular season, it is somewhat surprising that they are down 2-1 in the Western Conference quarterfinals. Thus, Duncan Keith and the Chicago Blackhawks will try to bounce back when they face the Nashville Predators on Friday at 0:30 a.m. GMT.

The Predators on the other hand are under very little pressure to advance to the next round, after all, very few expected the franchise from Tennessee to clinch a playoff berth down the stretch. However, Nashville did not only rally to the seventh place in the competitive Western Conference, but also beat the Hawks twice already. Especially their 4-1 victory in game three underlined that they are not to be underestimated and could very well make it to the Conference Semifinals if Patrick Kane and company do not pull their act together.

In contrast, the Hawks are facing a tremendous amount of pressure to win game four in order to stay in the series. More precisely, Chicago played extremely well all year long and all the sudden finds itself in a tough situation in the first playoff round. Especially their performance at the offensive end of the ice left much to be desired as they scored just four goals combined in three games, including two devastating 4-1 losses. That said, the Blackhawks are still the superior overall team but will have to play up to their full potential in order to steal one on the road and tie the series. Either way, fans around the league can expect a highly contested game when the team around Patrick Kane will be in Nashville for game four of the Western Conference Quarterfinals on Friday night.

In a Central Division tilt the Chicago Blackhawks will travel to Nashville to take on the Predators. The Blackhawks are 10-7-3 on the road while the Predators are 11-7-1 at home. This game will take place on Sunday January 11, 2009 at 01:30 GMT in Live NHL Streaming from Nashville Tennessee.

Experiencing some ups and downs early in the season, the Blackhawks are overdue to play up to their potential. Before heading back to Michigan for a four-game homestand, Chicago will face the Nashville Predators at Sommet Center on Friday at midnight GMT.

Unlike the Hawks’ front-office, GM David Poile is very content with how his improved team has performed in the first two weeks of play. Winning two out of three games, the Predators got off to a good start and showed significant defensive improvements compared to last year’s campaign. More specifically, Nashville only allowed five goals in three games and made their opponents work extremely hard thus far. Moreover, goaltenders Pekka Rinne and Dan Ellis had a great run posting save percentages of .976 and .938 respectively. However, the team around Joe Arnott has shown considerable deficits in their offensive lines. Averaging a meager 1.66 goals per contest, the Predators’ have yet to find their rhythm offensively.

Similarly, the Chicago Blackhawks also proved that they are one of the better defensive teams as they held their opponents to just nine goals in four games. However, the franchise from Michigan had a better run offensively, partially due to the efforts of star forwards Patrick Sharp and Kris Versteeg. Even though the Predators performed fairly well so far, they will more likely than not face a tough challenge versus the Hawks. Ultimately, coach Joel Quenneville’s squad has proven to be the better overall team and is not afraid to play hard on the road. Nonetheless, Joe Arnott and company will do their best to keep up their defensive intensity and finally find the net on the other side of the ice.
