While everything has been working out perfectly for the Flames, the Chicago Blackhawks only managed to win one of their first three regular season games. Hoping to pull their act together at home, the Blackhawks will host Calgary at United Center on Monday at midnight GMT.

Posting the best season start in franchise history at 4-0-0, the Calgary Flames will try to extend their winning streak and establish themselves at the top of the Western Conference. Even though the team lost leading scorer Mike Cammalleri to the Montreal Canadiens in free agency they had no problems scoring thus far. Averaging four goals per contest, the Flames managed to blow by the Edmonton Oilers, Vancouver Canucks and Montreal Canadiens in the first week of play. That said, their convincing performance can be attributed to a large extent to their group effort as the scoring was distributed evenly across the roster.

In contrast, the Blackhawks could only record one win in their season opening road trip and lost to the Panthers and Red Wings. However, the squad of coach Joel Quenneville is looking forward to bouncing back at home in order to secure their second victory. So far, the Hawks were lead by right wing Patrick Sharp who scored three goals and added two assists for five points in three appearances.

Taking the aforementioned issues into account, the audience can expect a hard-fought battle between the Flames and Blackhawks on Monday night. Even though the Flames performed better in the first week of play, both teams should be fairly even under normal circumstances. Unfortunately, Chicago will be without Marian Hossa, Dave Bolland and Adam Burish who are all out due to injuries. Nonetheless, the Hawks are still a very competitive team and will be able to count on the support of their fans at United Center.
