Albeit Derek Roy and the Sabres posted an excellent regular season last year, the team subsequently failed to deliver in the playoffs and was eliminated in the first round by the Boston Bruins. Hoping for a more consistent effort throughout the entire season, the Buffalo Sabres will make their way to Canada to face Thomas Plekanec and the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday at 11:30 p.m. GMT.

The Canadiens on the other hand were very excited with the performance of coach Jacques Martin's squad down the stretch. More precisely, the team from Quebec was able to make it all the way to the Conference Finals despite entering the post-season with a rather unfavorable eight seed. Without any doubts, hardly anyone expected Derek Roy and company to eliminate the Washington Capitals in the first round before beating the Pittsburgh Penguins in another tough seven game series in the Conference Semifinals. However, the Canadiens have yet to prove that they are able to keep up their level of play and will most likely have to bring their A-game to overcome the Sabres on Thursday night.
