Boston Bruins v Dallas Stars Live

Only winning two of their five games so far, Marc Savard and the Boston Bruins experienced a surprisingly bad start into the 2009-10 season. Being the best team in the Eastern Conference last year, Boston was hoping to elevate their game to the next level and make a run at the championship. Therefore, the Bruins will be highly motivated to perform well in their road game versus the Dallas Stars on Friday at 0:30 a.m. GMT.

Just like Boston, the Stars are not content with how things went so far. More specifically, the team around Brad Richards dropped three out of four and is coming off another frustrating shootout defeat. In fact, all of Dallas’ games went to overtime but head-coach Marc Crawford’s squad did only manage to close out one. Nonetheless, it should be noted that the franchise from Texas did not play particularly bad, especially if one takes into account that veteran All-Star Mike Modano has been sidelined by an injury since the season opener. In the first two weeks of play Brad Richards has been the leading scorer for Dallas as he tallied two goals and added four assists for a total of six points.

However, there is very little doubt that the Stars will not be entering the match-up with the Bruins as favorites. Thus far, Boston underachieved and might be overdue to live up to everyone’s expectations. Despite these unfavorable odds, the Dallas Stars will do their best to give the Bruins a run for their money and are counting on the support of their home crowd on Saturday night.
