While the Ducks were confident to make their way back to the playoffs after a disappointing year in 2009-10, Corey Perry and company failed to live up to their own expectations so far. Having lost three in a row to start the season, the performance of Anaheim has simply been awful as they allowed already 13 goals while finding the net only twice themselves. Thus, Teemu Selanne and the Anaheim Ducks will be looking for a win when they take on the Atlanta Trashers on Saturday at 2 a.m. GMT.

Albeit the Trashers opened the 2010-11 season with a solid 4-2 win versus Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals, the team around Nik Antropov subsequently lost two in a row on the road. While there appears to be no doubt that Atlanta will have to find a way to score more consistently, it remains to be seen how the squad of coach Craig Ramsay will try to solve said problem. After all, the franchise from Georgia just lost All-Star wing player Ilya Kovalchuk to the New Jersey Devils and finds itself in a tough situation to bounce back after a year out of the playoff mix. Taking the aforementioned circumstances into consideration, the Ducks and Trashers will most likely be on a level playing field on Saturday night.
